Lomakatsi Ecological Forestry Training & Employment Program (18-26 years of age) – applications open

PAID TRAINING! Learn and earn, work outside and help reduce community wildfire risk.  Join a 10-member crew for an ecological forestry training program to gain professional training, certification, and experience in the basics of forest restoration, controlled burning, and wildland fire response.  Upon completion, you’ll gain skills toward careers in natural resources, such as a wildland firefighter, restoration forestry sawyer, or restoration technician.
You’ll earn the following certifications:

• Basic firefighting training (40 hours)
• S-130 Firefighter Training
• S-190 Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior
• L-180 Human Factors in the Wildland Fir
• Incident Command Systems
• FEMA IS-100 C, FEMA IS-700 B
• S-212 Wildland Fire Chain Saws
• CPR and First Aid

Program Dates: February 20 – June 23, 2023 (18 weeks)
Mon – Fri, 40 hrs/wk, $20/hr
For adults ages 18-26
